Amazic and Recrout Join Forces for an ‘Intelligent IT Recruitment Platform’

The first intelligent IT recruitment platform in the Netherlands — and possibly in Europe. That’s what the recently launched partnership between Amazic and Recrout promises. But what will it actually look like?

That the job market for IT professionals (worldwide) is tight will come as little surprise to most employers. Almost every organization involved in software is currently looking for skilled IT professionals. Increasingly, they are turning to freelance DevOps experts to set up software projects and/or improve and maintain processes.

More and more IT professionals are taking their LinkedIn profiles offline out of frustration.

Freelance DevOps professionals have long noticed that they belong to an increasingly scarce group, eagerly pursued by every recruiter involved in IT recruitment. Not every approach is appreciated by these IT freelancers, as evidenced by the many stories about annoying recruitment methods from IT recruiters. Increasingly, IT professionals are taking their LinkedIn profiles offline out of frustration.

Amazic and Recrout together

To address this problem, Recrout and Amazic are joining forces this year. The former is launching the “first data-driven labor market platform” to digitally match DevOps professionals with employers, without the involvement of other intermediaries. Recrout provides the technology to support Amazic in this effort.

“Developers are now expected to do more than just code well.”

Amazic aims to offer DevOps professionals and employers worldwide a user-friendly platform where not only technical skills matter, but also the match in competencies and cultural fit. And all of this is fully objective and unbiased. A development that is becoming increasingly important in the IT world, according to the founders. “For example, developers are now expected not only to code well, but also to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, give presentations, and contribute ideas to new developments.”

“Over the fence”

“At the moment, IT recruitment is mainly about who can throw a few CVs over the fence first under the most favorable conditions. That’s not what IT is about,” says Karim Akhlal, founder of Recrout. “The fact that IT professionals are scarce does not mean they are unwilling or barely open to new challenges and projects. On the contrary, with the right approach and interesting projects, IT professionals are eager to continue developing and acquiring new knowledge. But it is clear that, in practice, there is a mismatch.”

“It is clear that, in practice, there is a mismatch.”

The European IT and sales organization Amazic has long experienced the mismatch between employers and IT professionals in practice. Amazic provides, among other things, IT training for large financial institutions and multinationals, an IT content platform, and an IT software marketplace that connects software providers such as Docker, Jenkins, and GitLab with IT managers looking for new software solutions and products.
